Our story
The Viper brand was founded in 1987 with the goal of consistently creating products of exceptional quality, blending cutting-edge technology and advanced manufacturing processes with artisanal skill and tradition.
Following this philosophy, in 1992, Viper launched its first series of Damascus steel blades. Over the years, the expertise gained has allowed the company to achieve the state of the art in industrial Damascus steel processing. Since then, Viper has developed new projects—modern knives with meticulously crafted details that set the brand apart as truly unique.
Starting January 1, 2025, Tecnocut S.n.c., and the historic Viper brand, became part of the Oreste Frati Group S.r.l. - FOX KNIVES. This integration will strengthen Viper's identity and distinctive values-innovative design, high-quality materials and unique character-while remaining true to its origins.

Modern market trends and product evolution have driven Viper to further innovate and diversify its range, collaborating with world-renowned designers to develop new series of high-tech folding knives. By integrating advanced locking mechanisms such as liner lock, frame lock, and button lock, and utilizing cutting-edge materials like sintered steels, carbon fiber, and titanium, our products stand at the forefront of the industry.
One of the first examples of this approach was the Magà model, developed in collaboration with designer and martial arts expert Boris Manasherov. This was the first Viper knife to feature ball bearings, combining meticulous craftsmanship with in-depth material expertise.
By using state-of-the-art steels such as Böhler M390 Microclean and CPM Magnacut, treated with modern finishes like PVD and micro-blasting, we create tactical knives that are at the cutting edge of innovation, ranking among the best in terms of performance and reliability.

We are committed to continuous innovation in technologies and materials while staying true to our roots. Quality is our cornerstone: we use fine woods, carbon fibers, and resins, enhanced by handcrafted finishes that highlight their elegance and prestige.
A key chapter in our history is our collaboration with Master Bladesmith Fabrizio Silvestrelli. This partnership has led to the creation of iconic models such as the gentlemen’s knives Timeless, Quality, and Drop, the specialist Boletus, and the tactical Start and Handy. Among our innovations, the KEEPER2 and SAFE stand out, featuring the patented Automatic Safe Locking System.
Beyond traditional cutlery, we also venture into the culinary world, offering steak and table knives, the complete Sakura line, and the renowned Mathusalem champagne saber. Quality remains paramount in this sector as well, with premium materials like fine woods and horn. Our commitment to excellence was recognized in 2018 when the Sakura line was awarded Kitchen Knives of the Year at the Blade Show in Atlanta, USA.

Handmade
Over the years, Viper has expanded its range, complementing its tradition of elegant knives with high-tech and innovative models. Each creation maintains a distinctive identity, combining efficiency, quality and exclusive design. Among the most representative examples of this continuous evolution are Katla, designed by Jesper Voxnaes, Moon, by Fabrizio Silvestrelli and Orso, by Jens Anso, all folding knives equipped with liner lock, framelock and button lock mechanisms. This line is joined by Basic 1/3, a fixed-blade outdoor knife designed by Tommaso Rumici, and Oniro, created by Denis Simonutti. All these models are made in collaboration with world-renowned designers.
